It was in the weekend sitting in the compound of my home, when I saw a child around eating. As I didn’t know her, I asked my housekeeping who she was.. I was told that her mother is a poor neighbor teen mother. She could not have food, clothes after being rejected by her parents because of being pregnant (without being married).
I asked myself: how can we support teen mothers who are facing similar problems of poverty, exclusion, marginalization, depression and loss of hope for future?
Looking back to that time in February 2014, it is now almost 6 years, already KEEPCARE RWANDA was founded to address issues of gender inequality, teenage pregnancy, Gender Based Violence and advocacy for young people.
Since then, inspirational and significant achievements have been witnessed through implementation of various projects, networking and advocacy.
We are a non-government organization that works to improve the lives of vulnerable teenagers through social-economic empowerment and building support for gender equality among teenagers.
